CFREE Tip #3 Requirements for MassSave Energy-Efficiency Incentives

MassSave provides strong incentives for energy-efficiency improvements (e.g., installing heat pumps, windows, appliances, etc.).

However, they first require some documentation from the homeowner. For instance, if you are installing an induction stove and are seeking a rebate, they require verification that a natural gas or propane stove is being replaced. This is done via a free Home Energy Assessment or by photos of the existing stove and the new stove, once installed.  Other improvements require different kinds of verifications. And all will have time limits for submission of a rebate application.

Be sure to clarify all the requirements before starting on the project. Don’t miss out on these incentives.

CFREE (Carbon Free Residential – Everything Electric) is a subcommittee of the Lincoln Green Energy Committee (GEC). CFREE provides guidance on how households can reduce use of fossil fuels and decrease greenhouse gas emissions to help Massachusetts meet statewide emissions limits set for 2030, 2040, and 2050. It also provides information about state and federal incentives that help reduce the cost of such changes. For more information and other CFREE Tips visit: lincolngreenenergy.org.
